The 2nd UGS Webinar will explore the current landscape of urogenital schistosomiasis (UGS) and approaches to strengthening its integration within health systems in the WHO African Region.

The webinar will introduce the UGS Landscape Analysis Tool, developed to help countries identify gaps, assess existing services and explore opportunities for integration. Participants will also hear updates on UGS tools developed through the WHO AFRO Technical Advisory Group on UGS (TAG-UGS).

The session will highlight progress on the UGS Tools Repository on the ESPEN Portal, as well as syndromic and clinical algorithms. Ministries of Health and partners will have an opportunity to explore practical entry points for connecting UGS with SRHR, HIV, cervical cancer, mental health and primary health care.

The 11th PC-NTD Regional Programme Advisory Group meeting will take place from 26–28 October 2026 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The meeting will build on the 2025 recommendations and review progress in implementing the ESPEN Strategy 2026–2030.

Members will assess regional and country-level progress, gaps and risks across the five PC-NTDs. Laboratory systems, medicine supply chains, data, surveillance, cross-border collaboration and sustainable financing will also be addressed in the discussions.

Additionally, the RPAG will identify countries and programme areas requiring intensified technical support to remain on track for the 2030 targets, generating practical recommendations and priorities to guide ESPEN and Member States in 2027.

The 11th ESPEN Steering Committee Meeting will take place on 29–30 October 2026 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The meeting will review the first year of implementation of the ESPEN Strategy 2026–2030 and progress since the 10th Steering Committee Meeting.

Members will assess programmatic and financial performance, funding gaps, resource mobilization and partnership engagement. The discussions will focus on country progress towards elimination, including dossier submission, validation, verification and post-validation surveillance.

The Committee will provide strategic guidance on ESPEN’s priorities, budget, country support and partnerships for 2027 and beyond. This will help strengthen alignment and coordinated action towards the WHO NTD Roadmap 2021–2030 targets.
