Burkina Faso, a landlocked country in West Africa, is endemic for LF, onchocerciasis and schistosomiasis. STH infections occur but STH endemicity is below the WHO threshold for preventive chemotherapy. The Ministry of Health implements a Strategic Plan for NTD control, with the vision of "Burkina Faso freed from the burden of neglected tropical diseases". The country has made strong progress towards LF elimination and scaling up MDA for schistosomiasis.
