Effects on NTD Programs
Due to departmental arrangement, the same staff working on NTDs are also working on COVID 19 response. All resources have been diverted to COVID 19 response resulting in NTD related activities being on hold.
Plans to conduct data management workshop, workshop to revise NTD masterplan and drafting of investment case have been put on hold. It is uncertain if MDA will take place and when.

The COVID 19 burden in SA is quite high, over 1000 infected people.
Also, the nation is on to total lockdown with only essential service workers allowed to work from offices while others work from home.
