New Online Course on Taenia solium Control and Management Now Available on OpenWHO

Brazzaville, Republic of Congo - The Expanded Special Project for the Elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases (ESPEN) is excited to announce the launch of a comprehensive online course, "Toolbox for the Control and Management of Taenia solium," available through the World Health Organization's OpenWHO platform.

This course is a significant step forward in the fight against Taenia solium, a parasite responsible for diseases like taeniasis, human cysticercosis, and porcine cysticercosis. With the T. solium control programme still in its nascent stages, this toolbox is a valuable resource for countries initiating control activities, providing essential information and guidance on the latest strategies and interventions.

 

About the Course:

The OpenWHO platform offers this course free of charge. Designed to be accessible even in low-bandwidth situations, the course offers flexible learning, allowing participants to study at their own pace. Upon completion of the course and achieving a score of over 80% on the optional quiz, participants will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

  5. Module 4: Monitoring and Evaluation Framework: Diagnostic tests, intervention thresholds, and evaluation frameworks.
  6. Module 5: Case Management of Neurocysticercosis: Managing neurocysticercosis, including WHO guidelines and treatment resources.
